How Is a MasterBrand Cabinet Made? Seigle’s Takes a Tour

Earlier this summer, a few of the Seigle’s team members were given the opportunity to visit two of our MasterBrand Cabinetry lines manufacturing plants: Aristokraft and Decora. Surrounded by corn fields in southern Indiana, both of the facilities employ a good percentage of the people in the cities where they are located. While taking the guided tours, we walked through the step-by-step process of the assembly, finishing, and packaging of the cabinets. As cabinet enthusiasts, it was a blast—and we were impressed by so many things during our tours. Here are just a few things we learned about the cabinets that may end up in your home during your kitchen or bathroom remodel:

The cabinets are safely made. Extreme safety measures are put in place at each factory. Safety glasses, ear plugs, and closed shoes are required for everyone working in or visiting the plants. The work and walkway areas were clearly designated with tape on the floors, and both of the facilities were impeccably clean.

The cabinets are top notch in quality. Quality assurance checkpoints exist at each stage of production. These include hand inspections as well as special lighting to catch any imperfections not able to be seen (or felt) by the naked eye.

The cabinets are hand-crafted. We were amazed at the number of hands that physically touch a cabinet as it goes through the process. While there are a number of machinery-assisted steps, the cabinets are primarily crafted by hand.

The cabinets are made with pride. We loved to see the tremendous pride that the employees exhibit in their work. Daily department meetings are held on the plant floor to review the prior day’s productivity, the current day’s goals, and any safety or quality concerns. Employees achievements are recognized and displayed for the entire department to see.
