What is your favorite project you’ve worked on and why?
I worked on a kitchen for a home that is on the “Historically Preserved” list of Kenilworth. It was fun, because it required approval of a committee and it gave me a new and valuable perspective of how that level of oversight works.
What is your favorite option in today’s kitchens?
Stacked moulding on “castled” wall cabinets.
Over your many years in the business, what’s the worst design trend you’ve encountered?
Desk/office in the kitchen.
If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
Shrimp scampi over saffron rice with a veggie/mango chutney and plum tomatoes, skinned, sliced, and drizzled with my own orange vinaigrette. Dessert is a strawberry puree paloma. The accompanying wine would be a California 86 Chardonay.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Keeping up with the Kardashians.
What is the most thrilling thing you’ve ever done?
At the AHRA Top Fuel World Finals in Spokane, Washington, beating Don Garlits in the semi finals.
What is your favorite room in your house?
The kitchen, of course.
If you had a 25 hour day while everyone else has only 24, what would you do with your extra time?
What is the top item on your bucket list?
My wife, without her, nothing else is worth pursuing.
