We recently completed a beautiful kitchen remodel in Bloomingdale, IL. The owner wanted to modernize her dated kitchen and make the layout more functional. The peninsula in the middle of the kitchen was awkward and made it really hard to maneuver from one space to another. The layout also did not take full advantage of the available area—the kitchen had many rounded areas that created dead space. They also wanted a more open feel between the dining room and kitchen.
So we eliminated the center peninsula and installed an island for easy access to both sides of the kitchen. We removed the wall cabinets that separated the dining area and kitchen to give them the open feel they desired.
