We recently completed a stylish remodel in Chicago. The owner wanted to take a standard builder’s grade kitchen and truly make it his own, with an emphasis on extra storage and a modern color palette.
To make this happen, we went with a subtle wood tone on the perimeter cabinetry, extending the cabinets to the ceiling for a little drama and a lot more useable space. The island and bar spaces are a rich, darker green that balances the subtlety of the wood and provides a little extra oomph to the space. Additional seating space at the island makes this kitchen a great hang-out spot, and the bar is a showstopper that highlights both storage and presentation.
