We can’t get enough of a new kitchen remodel we recently completed in Geneva. The owner wanted a beautiful unique space that was classic, with a farmhouse feel. So we improved everything in the kitchen from the finishes to to the layout. Two very large windows posed a design challenge, but we were able to incorporate a unique little bench that provides some seating as well as additional storage. The very large soffits were removed so we could use stacked cabinets and create as much cabinet space for storage as possible. We added glass inserts in a few of the upper cabinets to allow the owner to display dishes and decor. A farm house sink, bead board accents, and a wood plank wall all add to the farmhouse charm.
Through out the kitchen you can see little furniture accents such as bun feet, floating shelves, and furniture arch toe kicks. Since the door style is a more simple wide stile and rail Shaker these little details dress up the space without making it too ornate. A beautiful furniture hutch was created for the owners to use as a coffee bar. This Salsa Red hutch stands out and complements her other red kitchen accents.
Other special features include pull out drawers underneath the bench, floating shelves, and the pull out space cabinet next to the range.
