Before and After: Laundry Moved from Basement to Convenient Kitchen Space in South Elgin

We recently completed a beautiful kitchen remodel in South Elgin. In addition to the huge transformation in style, with the new light, fresh color, the kitchen adds convenient features to improve everyday living! The owner wanted an updated, stylish kitchen—and she was tired of trekking to the basement for laundry. She wanted to move her washer and dryer up to the kitchen. We get it! First floor laundry is totally convenient. So we reconfigured the kitchen to allow for a stackable washer and dryer. The louvered doors on the laundry area allow for airflow.

We also added what everyone wants in a new kitchen—more storage. We used full access and frameless cabinetry to expand every cabinet. The back door presented a walkway flow problem, so we included an angled base cabinet to allow clearance for the walkway while still giving her more upper and lower storage and countertop space.
