We recently completed an incredible remodel in Wheaton, IL. The owner really wanted to lighten up the kitchen and update it from the oak tones that used to be popular back when this kitchen was originally done. They wanted to open up the space on this floor and make it easier to flow between the seating area, eating area, and kitchen.
So we incorporated coconut-finished cabinets on the perimeter and eliminated the peninsula separating the seating and eating areas from the kitchen. We added a beautiful island in place of the peninsula which allowed for much easier movement between the spaces. The island really is spectacular—the wine storage cabinet on the end is such a unique touch.
