One customer we have been proud to serve over the past 20 years is Capital Homes. We spoke with Al Lander, Vice President of Capital Homes, who manages day-to-day operations from land planning to sales, design, construction and warranty. He has been involved in the residential construction industry in the Chicagoland area since 1972.

We sat down with Al to get a rundown of the company, their work, and to feature our latest project together.

Tell us More about Capital Homes.
Capital Homes is a custom homebuilder that has built stylish, affordable custom single-family residences in the northwest suburbs of Chicago for the past 15 years. We specialize in building what we call “Cluster Communities”, which are created by taking older homes or vacant lots and developing a new, vibrant neighborhood with well-designed, built-to-suit, energy-efficient homes. We also build single lot custom homes utilizing modifications of our existing model plan group or build full custom designed homes with our in-house design capabilities.

Tell us about your current work with Seigle’s.
We currently purchase cabinets and kitchen/bath countertops and work with Sally Gange on design and planning. Sally personally meets each of our customers and walks them through the standard layouts, customizing requirements and assisting them through the process. Capital Homes focuses on customizing to meet every customers specific needs and desires and on several occasions Sally has been an important part of the pre-contract design, pricing and sales process.

Why do you choose Seigle’s?
I have been working with the Seigle’s family for over 20 years purchasing lumber, millwork and cabinets. During that time every member of their staff I have worked with has shown a high level of knowledge, experience, courtesy and a commitment to finding solutions for every project. What is your favorite recent project with Seigle’s?
Our most recent project is Sterling Woods Subdivision in South Elgin, a new community with 37 half acre plus homesites, many of them heavily wooded. The site features a 13 acre wooded common area with several ponds and a winding creek. Sally was extremely helpful with cabinet design, color and style selections for our new Birch II model, which is a first floor master suite plan. Homes in the community range from $410,000 to $485,000. We offer many opportunities to customize each plan.
