Alicia Stachnik is a Designer and Assistant Sales Representative at Seigle’s. We sat down with her to get to know more about what makes her tick. Read on to find out more about her thoughts on design, her favorite project, and even her future travel goals.
What is your favorite thing about working at Seigle’s? I love the knowledge and experience of everyone here! It is refreshing to work with people who have processes and routines already figured out and are willing to share their knowledge.
What is your favorite project you’ve worked on and why? I had fun working on a full kitchen remodel that involved wood textures and off white/sage green paint colors. We included built-in appliances with panels, glass inserts, and functional accessories within the space. The combination of custom cabinetry and craftsmanship came out beautifully and gave the client her perfect kitchen.
What is your favorite option in today’s kitchens? The variety of finish options. I love when clients aren’t afraid to shy away from white and choose bold colors and textures instead.
What’s the worst design trend you’ve encountered? Using the same 12”x12” tiles all over a bathroom floor, shower walls, and tub surround.
If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us? I’d make Polish potato dumplings, a saucy beef roast with mushrooms and bell peppers, and a fresh green salad on the side. I don’t bake so dessert would be from a local bakery.
What’s your guilty pleasure? I love chicken wings with bleu cheese, but I refuse to feel guilty about it!
What is the most thrilling thing you’ve ever done? Went on a roller coaster. I absolutely HATE heights and will probably never do it again.
What is your favorite room in your house? My kitchen! I cook dinner almost every day and find it so relaxing. I also love to host family and friends so gathering around the kitchen island with a charcuterie board and some good wine is one of my favorite things.
If you had a 25 hour day while everyone else has only 24, what would you do with your extra time? I’d spend it relaxing outdoors.
What is the top item on your bucket list? To take a family trip to Ireland. I fell in love with photos when I was younger and have always wanted to experience the landscapes and culture.
