Marilyn has been an Itinerant Sales and Design Consultant at Seigle’s since 2012, and she’s been designing kitchens since 1992. We sat down with her to get to know more about what makes her tick. Read on to find out about Marilyn’s thoughts on kitchen design, the most thrilling thing she’s ever done, and even what she’d like to make you for dinner.
What is your favorite project?
I really enjoy every project. The opportunity to work with a customer and see the progress from start to finish is so rewarding.
What are your favorite options in today’s kitchen?
There are so many…. I like taking an average cabinet and adding wooden legs or base shoe to create a piece that looks more like furniture.
Over your many years in the business, what is the worst design trend you’ve encountered?
I would have to say honey oak cabinetry.
If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
Lasagna, garlic bread, and tiramisu for desert.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate.
What is the most thrilling thing you’ve ever done?
I climbed a mountain in Ireland.
What is your favorite room in your home?
My family room and, of course, the kitchen.
If you had one more hour a day what would you do with it.
Relax, read, and maybe do yoga.
What is your top item on your bucket list?
Go sailing in Hawaii.
