Professional Women in Building Hosts Storytime in Yorkville March 25

Team members Heather Pilarczyk (Sales Office Manager) and Jennifer Markulin (Outside Sales Representative/Designer) proudly represent Seigle’s Sims-Lohman in the Northern Illinois Home Builders Association (NIHBA) chapter of Professional Women in Building.

Professional Women in Building is the voice of women in the building industry, empowering and advocating for women leaders in homebuilding. The group provides education, professional development, and networking opportunities to promote professionalism and support its members’ careers in the industry.

“I have worked in the building industry for 15 years, and I feel it’s very important to see that women can do what is typically seen as a “man’s” job,” says Pilarczyk. “We are knowledgeable and capable, and there just aren’t enough women in the field and in leadership positions. I love the opportunity to advocate for women in this space.”

To celebrate women’s month, the NIHBA Professional Women in Building chapter is hosting a story time at the Yorkville Public Library. The event will include a reading of The House That She Built, which is based on a true story and explores STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) and the various professions involved in constructing a new home. Bring your children and join the group for this inspiring event!
