Position: Outside Sales Representative
Department: Sales
Reports to: General Manager
Summary:
Execute sales strategy, initiate contact with existing and potential customers, identify customer needs, and sell appropriate kitchen and bath products to meet the needs of builders and developers. A successful candidate will be excellent in relationship-type sales and will be well-connected within the industry.
Essential Functions:
- Call prospective customers and identify needs to create a customer-supplier relationship
- Answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, product issues and credit terms
- Recommend products to customers based on their needs and interests
- Increase sales for assigned accounts through suggestive selling
- Provide customers with product samples and catalogs
- Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery date
- Work directly with builder to coordinate the installation of products
- Secure and place orders taking into consideration delivery dates and inventory levels for fulfillment
- Consult with customers after sales to resolve problems and provide ongoing support
- Have an active network of contacts within the industry
Education/Experience:
- Bachelors degree required
- 5+ years experience in Kitchen and Bath Design and Sales
- Minimum 2 years CAD program experience
Skill:
- Trend and design knowledge of kitchen and baths
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates effective negotiation and closing techniques
- Strong analysis and judgment skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Computer skills: basic knowledge and ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and CAD
