Jessica Dillman is a Designer and Inside Sales Representative at Seigles for the Geneva showroom. We sat down with her to get to know more about what makes her tick. Read on to find out more about her design tastes, her Italian roots, and even the most thrilling thing she’s ever done.
What is your favorite thing about working at Seigles?
I’d have to say working with so many great cabinet lines. It gives you the opportunity for a lot of design creativity with something for everyone’s budget.
What is your favorite project you’ve worked on and why?
My favorite project has been a large kitchen renovation that involved knocking down walls to create an open space to the family room. The client had a large family, and we created an amazing island with room to seat 6 people.
What is your favorite option in today’s kitchens?
I love deep drawers. I think they are great for storing pots and pans and stacking tupperware.
Over your many years in the business, what was the worst design trend you encountered?
Pickled Oak. I’m not too sure why people ever liked that trend.
If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
I come from a big Italian family, so my go-to dish is pasta—with some meatballs of course!
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Eating junk food and watching reality TV.
What is the most thrilling thing you’ve ever done?
I went parasailing over the Gulf of Mexico. It was amazing and scary at the same time. I don’t like heights, but I would do it again for sure!
What is your favorite room in your house?
I love my family room. It’s cozy and comfortable—just the way I like things.
If you had a 25 hour day while everyone else had only 24, what would you do with your extra time?
Spend time with my family. Life is always so busy for everyone, and it would be nice to spend a little extra time together.
What is the top item on your bucket list?
To travel to Italy. I would love to see where my ancestors came from and indulge on some amazing food, vino, and culture.
