Here are a few simple small kitchen remodel tips to get your ideas going!

1. Maximize those corners. Corners are a great place to take a look at and find wasted space! Consider a corner cabinet accessory that allows you to store and easily reach items you need. Or even a recessed corner sink base. “Corners often create wasted, awkward space for storage under the counter, and sinks take up valuable countertop space in a small kitchen,” says Seigle’s designer Amber Moreland.

2. Use the room’s vertical space. When you have a small kitchen, often you can find extra space by looking not out, but up! When possible, eliminate the soffit and finish your cabinets all the way to the ceiling to volumize storage space.

3. Design using full access cabinets. When you are looking to gain every inch, consider using full access cabinetry. These are cabinets that do not have a face frame, giving them more interior cabinet space. Bonus if you like a contemporary style—these are the cabinets for you!

4. Layer storage within cabinets. Within the cabinets themselves, you can add accessories that not only keep you organized, but use all of the vertical space available. Add layered storage in drawers and within cabinets to make things easy to store and accessible!

5. Make narrow spaces useful. Narrow spaces sometimes offer the best place to store the perfect thing! Consider spice drawers, vertical tray storage, and more!

6. Use the end of cabinets and islands. Just when you think you’ve reached the end, there is one more space to find! Consider the end of cabinetry and islands to offer a useful space to keep organized with files and bills or cleaning accessories!
