We are excited to welcome Amber Moreland to the Seigle’s team! Amber is the Inside Sales Lead Designer at our Elgin location. We sat down with Amber to get to know what makes her tick. Read on to find out more about her love of kitchen design, her guilty pleasure, and more!
What is your favorite thing about working at Seigles?
The relaxed friendly environment. It is refreshing to work with people who like their jobs and each other.
What is your favorite project you’ve worked on and why?
My parents’ current home. When the economy fell through the floor and I ended up unemployed with lots of time on my hands, I designed their house. And all of the cabinets. Then I worked as a project manager for the project until I found a new job. It is a beautiful home with lots of unique features. It was fun working with my parents through the process.
What is your favorite option in today’s kitchens?
A 36″ Three Drawer Base. You can put so much in that cabinet, and everything is contained!
In your many years in the business, what’s the worst kitchen design trend you’ve encountered?
Champagne Maple…It was PINK!
If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
It depends on what is in season. Right now, I’d probably make a shrimp and smoked sausage skillet with zucchini, summer squash, mushrooms and asparagus. I’d end the meal with an apple crisp.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Big Brother Reality Show—it is like having a dysfunctional family for a few hours a week.
What is the most thrilling thing you’ve ever done?
Travel around Europe on the train.
What is your favorite room in your house?
It will be my kitchen once I get it remodeled!
If you had a 25 hour day while everyone else has only 24, what would you do with your extra time?
Spend it in prayer and my Bible.
What is the top item on your bucket list?
I’d love to take a Mediterranean cruise or a trip to the Holy Land.
