What is your favorite thing about working at Seigle’s?
So far my favorite part of working at Seigle’s is the atmosphere. It seems as though everyone enjoys working here and that is very evident by the length of time they have been employed.
What is your favorite project you’ve worked on and why?
My favorite project I have ever worked on was a “DENgeon.” Our client was turning his office into a guest bedroom with a heavy steampunk aesthetic. We designed a murphy bed as well as a hidden door. The clients were extremely creative and very open to a lot of different ideas.
What is your favorite option in today’s kitchens?
I would have to say that my favorite option in today’s kitchens would be the extremely diverse storage accessories. With the right accessories, your kitchen can function in more efficient ways than it ever has before. Nowadays, the fear of “lack of storage” for your Costco purchase of mac & cheese can be a thing of the past!
What’s the worst design trend you’ve encountered?
My least favorite design trend would have to be large corbels with grapes on them. EW.
If we came to your house for dinner, what would you prepare for us?
I would probably prepare tacos or something that I had never tried to make before. I love cooking, trying new recipes, and experimenting them on my guests.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
I try not to think of it as a “guilty” pleasure, but a BIG bowl of popcorn is almost always my go to. My favorite kind is air popped, with LOTS of butter, and a special dill seasoning. Either that or a bowl of gooey mac & cheese! OOO or a glass of Chianti! I personally think it is always best to have more than one vice because it really depends on my mood…
What is the most thrilling thing you’ve ever done?
Probably either hiking for 4 days to Machu Picchu or paragliding off the side of a cliff in Interlaken, Switzerland.
What is your favorite room in your house?
Our living room. One of the walls has a giant built-in which I designed, and it adds so much character to the room. The living room has southern exposure so this is also where we keep all of the house plants.
If you had a 25 hour day while everyone else has only 24, what would you do with your extra time?
I would probably spend it cuddling with my cats, Gelato & O’Malley.
What is the top item on your bucket list?
I would say that one of the top items on my bucket list is to travel to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and volunteer at the Elephant Sanctuary.
