When you are remodeling, one of the biggest determinations of the style and feel of your kitchen is the color palette you choose. One on-trend choice people are making today is to select two tones of cabinetry. This adds depth, interest, and dimension to your space. Make the design choice to have a different color on your island, uppers and lowers, or throughout the kitchen. As you’ll see below, you can go subtle with near tones, or big and bold—choose coordinating colors and end up with a truly wow-worthy space.

If you are overwhelmed by color choice and the permanence of cabinetry colors, lean on your designer for help. DuraSupreme recently gave expert advice about choosing a color palate in your remodel. A few of their suggestions:

Choose colors for the more permanent features first: countertops, cabinetry, and flooring. Then move on to the more temporary or easily replaceable features like wall paint color, backsplash, and appliances. End with hardware, lighting, and plumbing.
Consider undertone to get the best overall look, and rely on your kitchen designer to help. “An undertone is the underlying color apparent in most colors. You will want to be sure to have the same undertones in any neutrals you choose, otherwise the space will feel disjointed,” says Mandi Juskiewicz of DuraSupreme. “When you’re selecting your cabinets, counters, tiles, hardware, flooring, etc. your kitchen designer will be a valuable asset in helping identify materials and colors that coordinate beautifully with similar or complementary undertones.”
